Wednesday morning I bid farewell to Pip and hit the road to Carmel, a sweet seaside town that reminds me a lot of home. Because I arrived in the late afternoon I sprinted down to the beach before the early sunset to catch a glimpse. The sand there is just like baby powder, some of the finest I've ever felt.

The shops are totally charming (and look dangerous), definitely will check these out Thursday am.

This Bed&Breaksfast was totally a whim too; called them from the double decker tour bus today and they happened to have the 'Ashley' cottage available for a great rate. Right in the heart of town a few blocks from the beach.

Can't wait to explore Carmel in the am and then off to Santa Barbara in the afternoon...
